Training

HOW I TRAIN

No magic programs, no shortcuts — just three pillars trained consistently over a full season: aerobic base, functional strength, and race-specific simulation.

Aerobic Base

Most athletes under-run. Zone 2 running builds the engine everything else sits on top of.

Functional Strength

Train the actual movements — sled work, carries, lunges, wall balls. Machines don’t transfer, the stations do.

Race Simulation

Once the base is built, the run/station/run pattern has to be practiced directly to hold up under fatigue.

A Simple Weekly Structure

  • Mon — Easy run (Zone 2)
  • Tue — Strength: sled, carries, lunges
  • Wed — Rest or light mobility
  • Thu — Easy run + short station circuit
  • Fri — Strength: full-body, wall balls
  • Sat — Simulation: run/station intervals
  • Sun — Rest
